WFS O60's West Premiership & Championship

Toryglen Regional Football Centre was once again buzzing with energy and competitive spirit as Round 2 of the WFS Over 60’s West Premiership and Championship took centre stage today. With the season now at its halfway mark, key battles are beginning to take shape at both ends of the tables.

In the Premiership, it’s advantage Glasgow Life, who extended their lead at the summit by seven points. Their unbeaten consistent form has given them a significant cushion as the campaign intensifies. With the race for Champions League qualification heating up, just 2 points separate the next five teams, setting up a thrilling second half of the season where every point will count.

Meanwhile, in the Championship, Saint Anthony’s continued their remarkable run, securing four consecutive wins on the day. Their dominance sees them also seven points clear at the top, reinforcing their status as promotion favourites. Drumchapel United also had a strong outing, climbing to second place with a series of solid performances that kept them in the hunt.

Today’s fixtures were marked not just by competitive play but also by sportsmanship and community spirit, hallmarks of the walking football movement. Walking Football Scotland extends sincere thanks to all players, referees, and regional representatives for their dedication and support throughout the event.

With momentum building and storylines unfolding, attention now turns to the next round, which will take place on Friday, 5th September.
